“Kyler Edwards put his name in the portal when the season ended wanting to explore his options,” Adams said. “Kyler has contacted me and informed me he has decided to leave Texas Tech. His contributions to Texas Tech the last three years are invaluable. I’m thankful for all Kyler has done here and proud we helped him grow as a player and as a person. We will miss him and wish him success in all he does going forward. Thank you, Kyler.”
An Arlington, Texas native, Edwards played three seasons at Texas Tech where he averaged 8.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists through 98 games played. Edwards played a reserve role throughout his freshman season where he helped the Red Raiders win the 2019 Big 12 regular-season championship and advance to the NCAA Championship Final. He would start all 31 games as a sophomore, averaging 11.4 points per game and finishing with 95 assists. As a junior, Edwards earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection after averaging 10.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and leading the Red Raiders with 2.8 assists per game.
